The Right to Education Act, 2009 stipulates a period with schools providing 200 to 220 working days a year. However, harthals have not allowed the state to reach the mark for the past few years. With close to 90 harthals a year, the schools are only able to reach 190 days while the children need 220 days. All the students are not brilliant enough to learn the curriculum in less than a 30 days period. Hence, the quality of education does not justify the literacy rate of Kerala.

In order to protect the rights to education and freedom of movement, YESTE is conducting an All-Kerala campaign among the school students. An awareness competition will be held with the participation of students from all classes of all schools from all districts of Kerala. Through the students, we aim at making changes in whole.
